Social Anxiety Therapy, INC

Create a social anxiety-resistant life With Leah Bleicken-Spiro, LICSW

Welcome

Do you constantly feel like you're being judged? Or worry about appearing incompetent? Do you find it difficult to do things when others are watching? Do you fear being criticized? People who suffer from a social anxiety disorder experience these thoughts often and, at times, intensely. Social anxiety disorder is a persistent fear of being watched and judged by others. This fear can affect work, school, and other daily activities. It can even make it hard to make and keep friends. The good news is social anxiety disorder is treatable. As a psychotherapist, I assist people who suffer from social anxiety disorder by providing evidence-based psychoeducation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Exposure Therapy. I provide sessions remotely via videoconferencing and/or over the phone. Since a common symptom of social anxiety disorder is fear of face-to-face social interaction, people can sometimes be reluctant to seek out treatment in an office setting face-to-face with their therapist. This can become a barrier to treatment. Providing remote therapy via videoconferencing or over the phone addresses the fear of face-to-face interaction in an office setting by removing this barrier. As someone who lived with social anxiety disorder and has since recovered through therapy, I understand how the symptoms of social anxiety disorder can be a barrier to seeking out treatment. I aim to provide sessions that best suit my client’s needs, creating a positive therapy experience.
